The leading specialist analytical instrument companies in Schauenburg Analytics Group – Markes International and SepSolve Analytical Ltd – harness applications and engineering expertise to improve all aspects of the gas chromatography workflow and deliver better business and scientific outcomes for both research and routine laboratories.
Our mission is to develop technologies that allow scientists around the world to improve throughput and maximise the quality and quantity of information extracted from every sample. With expertise in every area from sample preparation to the processing and interpretation of complex data sets we also provide the ongoing support and partnership laboratories can rely on.
To do this we hire the best into our dynamic and creative companies; scientists, engineers, business development, office and factory personnel.
Do you want to go further than the laboratory with your chemistry related degree?
Schauenburg Analytics Group is looking for talented and driven individuals, looking to get more out of their career than routine laboratory analysis.
If you’ve ever taken your PC to bits to ‘see how it works’; modified your drone to make it fly better; designed a competitor for Robot Wars; fixed a broken household appliance by following a YouTube video or changed the brake pads on your car you may have the skillset we are looking for.
Whilst a grounding in analytical technologies is essential for this role, we understand that your hands-on laboratory experience as a recent graduate is likely to be limited but if you have the right mindset and a drive to succeed, we will provide the training and support you need to develop your career as a field service engineer.
We are looking for graduates who are capable of “thinking on their feet”, have an enquiring mind, and can pro-actively look for ways to improve both themselves and the product or task they are working on.
This graduate opportunity is on the career pathway of our post-sales support team with the objective of becoming a full-time field service engineer in your second year.
What you’ll do
In your first year you will undertake training in our analytical technologies across both our Bridgend and Peterborough facilities
In your second year you will undergo service engineer training on our range of analytical instrumentation including thermal desorption, multi-mode extraction & enrichment platform, and time-of-flight mass spectrometry as well as a range of other accessories.
During this year you will
Travel is an essential part of this field-based role and applicants must be willing to travel routinely as part of the job. Initially this will be predominantly in the UK, and you will be supplied with a company car once you are trained. However, as our team supports colleagues & customers across Europe and the rest of the world, there will be opportunities for international travel as experience is gained.
All our teams work closely together to ensure that we deliver high quality technical innovations for our customers and your experience and feedback as a field engineer will have an influence on our future products.
